Paisley Motif Loop

Hand Made in the USA using European veg-tan leather, this incredible bracelet design features a sewn continuous leather strap with a loop that fits over a solid cast pewter button as the clasp. 

The Leather is 5mm wide by 4mm thick.  The Button is 17mm. The Bracelet is custom-made for the client and they are able to choose the leather color and size.

The Paisley Motif Button: Of Persian origin, paisley designs became popular in the West in the 18th and 19th centuries, it's believed that the pattern was derived from the Zoroastrian symbol of a cypress tree combined with a floral spray, to represent life and fertility.

Buttons are cast by our artisans using Lead-Free Pewter. *The client can custom upgrade their order to Stirling (925) Silver or14kt Gold buttons after purchase for an additional cost. (price quotes are available through email)

The Bracelet features, the Paisley Motif Button Clasp:

The design originated in India back in the 11th century, near Kashmir. Whilst there's no concrete evidence, it's believed that the pattern was derived from the Zoroastrian symbol of a cypress tree combined with a floral spray, to represent life and fertility. 

Paisley, paisley patterns, and motifs are ornamental textile designs using the boteh or buta, a teardrop-shaped motif with a curved upper end. After the design became popular, from 1850 -1860 the town of Paisley employed 6,000 weavers making copies of the Kashmir shawls with the pattern. The name "Paisley": Due to the huge scale of shawl production in Paisley, Scotland, the pattern was given the name 'paisley'.   It symbolizes the tree of life, the seed palm, thus fertility.
